Dean Fredericksen, Manager Geology and Planning, Red Lake Operations
Speaker Bio:
Dean has more than 30 year’s experience in the mining industry. In July Dean moved to Red Lake from NSW Australia having worked with Evolution Mining since 2017 at Lake Cowal and as an Exploration Advisor working across a range of Projects. Prior to joining Evolution Dean was the Chief Operations Officer for Aurelia Metals. He was responsible for developing the Au-Ag-Pd Zn Hera Project in NSW having been involved in the project since it was purchased by YTC Resources through feasibility, financing and construction.
Dean has operated a Consulting business and held senior site-based and corporate roles with a range of companies including Evolution Mining, Aurelia Metals, Newcrest and MPI Mines working on Gold, Copper, Nickel and other Base Metal projects throughout Australia, China, North America, Philippines and NZ.. He has extensive experience in Underground and Open Pit operations, managing significant exploration and resource definition drilling projects, feasibility studies, Resource Modelling, mine geology functions and general site management.
Valerie Wilson is a Consultant Geologist at SLR, with 15 years of experience in the mining industry. She was the co-project manager of the new Mineral Resource estimate at the Red Lake Operations, completed in July 2020. The project used over 7 million metres of drilling and required the coordination of a large team of geologists located around the globe, and the development and implementation of innovative approaches. Valerie will summarize the work as part of the presentation.
Talk Abstract:
In April 2020 Evolution Mining completed the purchase of Red Lake Operations. We are excited to be operating Red Lake, a significant world class gold deposit in a secure and stable jurisdiction such as Ontario. Since purchase we have rebased the Mineral Resource and commenced a program to restore Red Lake to a cost effective and efficient modern operation by accelerating UG development, embracing technology and planning for future developments to realise the significant remaining Mineral Endowment.
