Patrick Laforest, Mine Production Geologist - Nemaska Lithium
The presentation will discuss the geological context of the Whabouchi deposit, genesis, mineralogy the mining strategy that will be used to extract the spodumene ore.
The Whabouchi deposit is a world class, high grade lithium deposit whose straightforward geology allows a simple and low cost mining operation to be deployed. The Whabouchi mine is serviced by existing road and power grid

Speaker Bio:
Patrick Laforest joined Nemaska Lithium as Poduction Geologist in January 2018. He graduated from the University of Québec in Montréal in 2010 where he earned a bachelor’s degree in geology. He started is career in base metals exploration and then accepted a position a role as a production geologist for Canadian Royalties where he contributed to the start-up of their 2 open pits and underground mines. He then shared is experience in start-ups with Hecla Mining, where he contributed to the start-up of the open pit on the ongoing Casa Berardi project in the James-Bay region.
